About The Art of Summer
Who: The Art of Summer camp is for children ages 7-12 and is limited to 18 kids per session. Camp is directed by Sarah Hinds with the help of other experienced educators from the community.
What: The Art of Summer is a holistic hands-on summer day camp. Every day we offer opportunities for art, quiet time, sports, and creative play. Healthy morning and afternoon snacks are served daily. Snacks include fresh fruit and vegetables (local and organic when possible), popcorn, pasta, chips and salsa, etc.
Some activities remain open the entire week such as painting, beading, collage, puzzles and board games. Other activities are “daily specials”: unique art, sports and creative play projects that take place each day.
- Examples of art projects include glass fusing; plaster casting, tie dying, puppet and kite making.
- Examples of sports include hiking soccer, kickball, swimming and water play.
- Examples of creative play include songs, skits, fort building, and cooking. Each week culminates with a kids only No Talent/ Talent show!
The Art of Summer provides sparks of inspiration. If a child falls in love with an activity, they have the time, the room and the resources to do it all day!
When: 9am-4pm
Each session will have unique art projects presented daily. No two sessions are alike!
Where: The Art of Summer camp is located on our 11 acre artist retreat just west of Gainesville near Williston Rd. We are surrounded by beautiful woods, gardens, chickens, a stage (talent show!), a full kitchen and an art workshop.

Why: Summer is a time of self-discovery. Our camp is full of new experiences your child will love. Summer is a time to take life a bit slower. Quality time, imaginative play, fun in the sun, engaging art projects and a positive atmosphere… THAT is The Art of Summer!
Cost: $250 per session includes materials for all projects and two healthy snacks a day
*Note:This is the suggested tuition. If you are unable to pay the full amount, please inquire about financial aid. We want all children to be able to enjoy The Art of Summer experience. Please note all camper spots are held on a first come first served basis, based upon receipt of the enrollment form and either full tuition or a minimum deposit of $50 per session.
